The Back-packers beckon
The Yana trek was arguably the longest and most treacherous that I have even undertaken. We would have walked at least 8 km each way, and the terrain was at most times rocky and inclined. It was a gamble which paid off in the end, since I was not sure if I could successfully climb all the way up, especially with that huge bag begind my back. The fact that I was not in the best of health did not make matters any easier. But by the time this snap was taken, we had visited both the Mohini Shikhara as well as the Bhairaveshwara shikhara, had a fun-filled camp fire session and was half-way through our descend towards civilization, the next day. The only casuality was my old, faithful Reebok - the sole had come off, and that's what I am holding at the end of the stick in my hand!
