Blah, Blah and Blah

I am known to many as a man of few words. But my thoughts go blah, blah, blah! Here, in this blog, you will come across a wide array of not just my thoughts and impressions, but of a virtual collage of the sights and sounds experienced during my trips around the state of Karnataka...

Taming Seethanadi

River rafting along River Seetha near Hebri in Dakshin Kannad district was the high point in our Mangalore - Kollur trip in 2004. Sandeep, Nisha and I took off to Mangalore on a long weekend during the height of the monsoon season of '04. This was one memorable trip indeed, made more special by this thrilling ride rown a Grade-3 rapid on River Seetha. Posted by Picasa

The Back-packers beckon

The Yana trek was arguably the longest and most treacherous that I have even undertaken. We would have walked at least 8 km each way, and the terrain was at most times rocky and inclined. It was a gamble which paid off in the end, since I was not sure if I could successfully climb all the way up, especially with that huge bag begind my back. The fact that I was not in the best of health did not make matters any easier.

But by the time this snap was taken, we had visited both the Mohini Shikhara as well as the Bhairaveshwara shikhara, had a fun-filled camp fire session and was half-way through our descend towards civilization, the next day. The only casuality was my old, faithful Reebok - the sole had come off, and that's what I am holding at the end of the stick in my hand! Posted by Picasa

Chakora Fort, Goa

Sandeep and me at the Chakora Fort, the same fort that was indelibly imprinted onto our minds in Dil Chahta Hai by Aamir, Saif and Akshaye. This is when I visited the fort during the Gokarna/Karwar/Goa trip last Nov Posted by Picasa

6 Ballygunge Place

Went to this awesome restaurent called 6 Ballygunge Place on 12th Main, Indira Nagar. Its above the Cafe Coffee Day outlet. They serve purportedly authentic Bengali dishes. We devoured an ocean-full of sea life and each one tasted fabulous! Check out a contented group of 8 people, who just walked out of that place! ;-) Posted by Picasa
